(Night before flying JFK → Honolulu on the longest domestic nonstop in the U.S.)
I stayed here for one night before my marathon flight from JFK to Honolulu, and honestly, this hotel worked out beautifully — especially because I used my World of Hyatt credit card free-night certificate. That little perk alone makes the card’s $95 annual fee worthwhile, and in New York prices, it basically feels like getting a $250–$300 room for free. Even better, award nights don’t charge the daily resort/destination fee, so I enjoyed all the benefits without paying a penny extra.
Even though award stays waive the destination fee, I still had access to:
Complimentary Wi-Fi
Access to the 24-hour fitness center
The on-site Regency Club (if you have status)
$10 credit towards purchases at the snack shop near the lobby
Discounts or perks tied to the casino and dining partners
Getting all of that without paying the usual fee was a sweet little win before a 10-hour flight.
Modern, spotless rooms — very clean, very comfortable, and surprisingly spacious for New York.
Friendly, efficient staff — check-in was smooth and welcoming.
Convenient for JFK — perfect for an early morning flight or long-haul departure.
No resort fee on award nights — huge value when using the credit-card free night.
Quiet, good sleep — a blessing before a long flight across the Pacific.
Resorts World attached — easy access to dining options and entertainment if you want something to do.
No dedicated airport shuttle — expect to use Uber/Lyft; not a big deal, but worth noting.
Limited on-site dining in the hotel itself — most food options are in the casino complex, not the lobby level. The casino food court offered multiple choices for low cost dinners.
Not close to Manhattan — great for airport stays; not ideal if you're planning sightseeing.
For a pre-flight stay — especially before the JFK→HNL nonstop — this hotel hit the sweet spot. Clean, quiet, easy, modern, and the value of using my Hyatt credit card’s free-night reward (plus no resort fee) made it a no-brainer. I’d absolutely stay here again anytime I need to rest before a long-haul flight out of JFK.
