Ring in 2020 with fireworks. After a hiatus of 2 years due to the Covid pandemic, the Waikiki Improvement Association will once again present its New Year's Eve Fireworks Show.  The best views are typically from the beach area across from Duke's Statue.   The show starts at 11:55 pm on December 31st. From a barge just off Waikiki Beach, one announcement salute will be fired every minute until 1 minute before midnight. This is the signal for everyone to direct their attention toward the ocean and tune your radio to Country 97.5, AM760/95.1 FM or 107.9 Hawaii’s Kool Gold to enjoy choreographed music.
